Easter at Nonna and Papaw's

As I mentioned, we headed to Nonna and Papaw's for dinner.

And more eggs.

Since we didn't make it to church, we dressed up to get a photo or two in our Easter finest. As you will see, LM wasn't so keen on this idea.

The sun was in a horrible place when we arrived.

The other kids were all in a good mood for photos.

Four happy kids and one stink eye.

Oh well.

We changed out of dress clothes and checked out baskets from Nonna and Papaw and the cousins.

Then we ate!

I tried my hand at deviled eggs for the first time.

They were yummy!

While the adults finished up their meal, Uncle Mark read books.

Then it was time for the egg hunt. YAY!

There were just a few eggs...

Nonna and Papaw looked on!

We filled the eggs with stuff other than candy.

But there was still some sugar available - LM honed in on that right away.

Then we just had fun playing in the front yard!

Easter Day

On Easter, we did not go to church. S was coming down with what turned out to be the full blown flu. LM and I had flu shots and did not catch it. S will get his shot next year. We did, however, after the morning rain, do a quick afternoon egg hunt at our house and then go over to the in-laws house for dinner. S was puny the whole time, but we went anyway. We often have imaginary boo boos these days.

So we can use band-aids.

Charlie received some new clothes - a super hero outfit and some pajamas.

They get taken off just as often as his old outfit.

More Egg Matters

So we tried our hand at dying eggs this year. 

I boiled the eggs and the LM did the rest, mostly.

We did not have enough patience to let the eggs dye well.

But we had fun all the same.

Pink/red was the only really good color.

Daddy offered up all sorts of devices for collecting the eggs out of the dye

Our friend Ms. Karen stopped by during the egg fun!

Pay no attention to the stacks of bins back there.

No attention at all. One day we'll get a plan together to move them.

Ms. Karen made egg dying more fun!

Look at all those - ahem - "dyed" eggs! Ha.

A good holiday activity, I'd say!

Later this afternoon, the boy and I will fly to Indy for a fun long weekend with our Indiana family. LM has been looking forward to this for weeks. He can't wait - when you bring it up, he just giggles with delight. Me too, of course. Me too.
