Columbus Children's Museum

As I mentioned, it got cold - really cold - the day after we made it to Indy. The wind was killer. We forged ahead and went to the Columbus children's museum for a while. Unfortunately, also attending that day were all the kindergarten students from a school nearby. It was crowded and LOUD. But, the boys didn't seem to notice.

Then there was this.

Gibson colored for a while, LM cut paper for QUITE a while. And I took video, because when he cuts paper, his mouth moves. Cute. (Oh - and you can hear how loud it was...)

 

Then we walked across the street to an indoor play area where we also ate some lunch. This place was a lot less crowded and loud, which for the adults was more pleasant.

The One About Feet

Important Work with Grandpa

When we were in Indiana, the first day was warm, until that evening when a front came in and the rest of the weekend was definitely cooler. But, that first day, we visited Grandpa and went about the important work of throwing sticks into the creek.

Fun at the Water Park

This happened in early April, but as is more often the case than you care for me to complain about it, I was having upload issues with this group of photos - most were taken with the camera phone, because it's not a very "fancy camera" friendly place. Ahem.

So, anyway, we went with Kim and Mark and the girls to a Great Wolf Lodge in early April for an overnight. They go pretty regularly but this was our first time there. I knew LM would love it, and he did. So, I loved it too!

Life

Sometimes it really sucks to be a grown up. Sometimes responsibility and expectations are daunting and not fun. Sometimes situations beyond our control are scary. It especially sucks when people are messing with my family's mojo. I try very hard to look for the silver lining, to find a solution around another way, and to not worry about things I cannot control.

But, sometimes it just sucks.

Even then, we are blessed. Really, really blessed. We have a roof over our head, food on our table, friends and family who love us and our family, and I have the best husband and son ever. So, if all we can muster is to count our blessings instead of dwelling on the suckiness, we'll be happy about that today. One day at a time.

S's Wine Party

So, the wine we made came to fruition a few weeks back, and we had some friends over to the wine shop to bottle it. Here are some photos:

It was a nice night so we set up our food outdoors.

LM came for a while, then left with Nonna and Papaw.

He was there long enough to eat some cheese and chocolate!

Once most everyone arrived, we starting our bottling lesson.

I wish this wasn't blurry.

But, alas, I realized about halfway through the evening that my lens was on manual focus. Oh, the trouble with bad 40-something eyes. I thought something was off, but I didn't pay attention enough to figure it out until several shots later. Oy.

Better focus, except the boy's focus was elsewhere.
