We went on out to Ham Orchard the other weekend based on its rave reviews from my co-workers. It did not disappoint. I have one tomato left and I am sad it will be gone soon. The produce and food to purchase was amazing, and there is a berry picking field the boy enjoyed. Here are some photos:
Blackberry blossoms
Not ripe yet!
Have I mentioned this shirt?
I found this shirt at Target, so I bought it, knowing how much the boy loves Yo Gabba Gabba. Then I saw one another place that looks like Muno. Anyway, he now requests to wear these shirts pretty much EVERY DAY. And he has an opinion on what shorts should go with the shirts, too. Funny.
There were ripe ones around, but I bet the next weekend was a bumper crop!
Little Man really got into it.
And he saw ripe ones we missed!
Those are peach trees - what they are mostly known for - and the peaches were AMAZING!
See the train?
The orchard store is really near a train track. We saw a passenger train and several cargo trains go by while we were there. LM loved this - stopping his berry picking work each time to stand and say, "Choo Choo!"
Then we took our something like fifteen berries in to be weighed. Ha.
This is the pavilion. We were there to early to eat lunch.
But next time we'll be sure to try it!
The other thing we'll do next time is bring a cooler so we can pack the refrigerated items for sale to go home! We did get peaches and tomatoes, which were divine, as well as some bread, which was also good! We will definitely be back.
See you soon.
