SNOW!

I know most of the nation has experienced more snow this winter than they care to see for many winters to come. But, we had our first dusting (a dusting is all it was) today, and the boy was so excited to watch it come down. Here are a few quick photos from the camera phone as we headed out today - the drive into work was crazy - as people were driving 5 miles an hour for this bit of snow. Yes, there were slick spots, but seriously, it was out of control.

The front steps that S was afraid I would fall on.
I went very slow - bad center of balance these days and all.

The happy boy!

Out in the "snow" - it was still coming down, so we got a bit more than this.

My car, nicely warmed up and scraped by S.

Our street covered in the light dusting.

LM wrote his name in the snow.

The crazy traffic - I was just going to close to that building in the distance -
it was about 30 minutes to get there.

So, there's our big snow day. Don't make too much fun of us. ;-)

See you soon.

Rain Boots

Last week we actually had some seasonal weather. And by seasonal, I mean it was a little bit cold. So, I dressed LM in his cute warmer clothes. And, on the day it rained, he wanted to wear his rain boots! Here is is, stylin' and profilin', as my Unk would say:

stylin in the rainboots

Today, it'll be in the 70's. So, you know, we have to take advantage of the cooler weather when we can. It'll be gone before we know it, and we'll be sweating, sister.

Happy Monday. Happy President's Day - LM and S have the day off - I am a working schmo. Hope you have the day off, friends.

See you soon.

A Walk through Klyde Warren Park

IMG_2235-2.jpg

As I mentioned yesterday, we took a walk through the new downtown park - Klyde Warren Park - after our trip to the Crow Collection. Here are some photos from that glorious morning of great weather and time with our family:

You can use the mallets to play those tubes!

Snow and Ice in Dallas

We had a bit of snow a few days ago here in Dallas. Hard to believe, as it's been near 70 since, but on this day, for a few hours, we looked like a winter wonderland. I snapped a couple of photos with the new purse camera on the way to the car:

More Snow!

We went outside later in our visit to Indy while it was actually snowing, so LM could experience that and get a hands on understanding of where the snow came from. And, since the snow was wet as it was coming out of the sky, it made it better to manipulate. So, LM and S made a snow bunny too, with a little help from Nana:

IMG_1837.jpg
There was, as you will remember, already plenty of snow...

IMG_1844.jpg
We had to go out and get S a new hat.
He wasn't prepared for this much cold.

IMG_1846.jpg

IMG_1852.jpg
S once again tried to show LM how to make a snow angel.

IMG_1854.jpg
LM said, "No, I'll make some snow knees."

IMG_1857.jpg
On to the snow bunny - you will see it was rolling like carpet.

IMG_1862.jpg
Very packable.

The other days, the temperature had dried out the snow after it fell, and it was like powder. Not packable at all. So, this was a welcome turn of events, as LM really wanted to try to make a snowman.

I did not have appropriate footwear.

IMG_1868.jpg
The snow was really coming down.

IMG_1873.jpg
Yes, he threw that snowball. At me.

IMG_1905.jpg
Thanks to Nana, we had some buttons and a scarf for the bunny.

IMG_1915.jpg
Oh, he looks cold!

IMG_1922.jpg
Ah, there we go, the boys and the snow bunny!

IMG_1928.jpg
LM was pretty proud of the finished product.

IMG_1935.jpg
OK, and then, here are a couple of me and the boy.

IMG_1940.jpg
We decided maybe it was time to go inside and warm up!
But we had fun while it lasted.

See you soon!
