The Haircut

 IMG_0411.jpg

When we were in Indiana, LM was in desperate need of a haircut. I thought it might be fun to take him to get his hair cut with Grandpa at his barber, who has cut his hair for 38 years! So, the three of us set off to go see Bill.

This is an old school barber shop, folks - nothing like where we get hair cut in Dallas.

It is clear Bill loves what he does. And he was so good with LM!

These photos were all snapped with the phone camera - so the light shifts a lot from photo to photo!

There was candy involved, of course!

Then it was Grandpa's turn!

Then, after haircuts, we went for some lunch.
Grandpa and LM had quite an exchange while we waited in line.

Fun on Lake Monroe

Back to Indiana...when we were there back in August, Unk arranged for us to go out on Lake Monroe for some swimming and fishing. LM really wanted to go fishing, so Unk said he would take him. The day started out a little chilly, but the clouds burned off fairly quickly and the weather was perfect. The kids had a blast, and so did the adults! It was a really great day:

There were plenty of snacks!

These two are fun to watch.

There was a lot of alternate drivers!

IMG_1354.jpg
We did get in the water - once you got used to the temperature, it wasn't bad!

Lori washed out to sea and we had to save her.

Toward the end of our time on the water, we tried some fishing.

It was a really, really nice day with family. Such fun! So glad Unk invited us to go along!

See you soon.

Halloween Wrap-Up

To wrap up our holiday, here are some photos of pumpkin carving and decorating, and some photos from the trick or treating festivities with Dallas cousins:

First up - carving a pumpkin for a school competition.

The ham.

The worker and also the artist.

LM wanted to decorate his pumpkin with Daniel Tiger
So, S found a template and tried his hand at carving the image.

Not bad, huh?
They did not win, but they had fun.

IMG_2755.jpg
We also decorated one pumpkin with foam stickers.
(LM mostly did this one by himself)

Then, we let LM paint the other pumpkin.
