Friday Photos

For today, a series of random photos from a couple of different times last weekend. But, first, a little plea to you, my dear blog reader. My Google analytics tell me I have on average - and with VERY GOOD regularity - 100 blog readers a day. Yet, I have only 34 of you over there on the right. If you are coming here and reading every day, please join over there and let me get to know you. I promise I don't bite and it won't hurt at all. OK, thank you.

Now, on to some photos, mostly of the B-O-Y:

The same day...later.

We made an impromptu stop at the Dallas Arboretum, one of our favorite places. I happened to have my camera handy, so we decided to take some photos. If we had planned this little soiree, the boy would have been in a different outfit. But I digress. LM wasn't really interested in cooperating with his Mama to get a good photo. Nonetheless, I caught one or two decent ones. Out of like, well, 800. Or so.

My love holding our love. Love.
Love. Once more. Love.

Love this one too. More appropriate, somehow.

Can you believe there were a few tulips, almost spent?

This is the "I'm not gonna look at you and smile" pose.

"Um, stillll not looking!"

"You are NOT getting a good photo of me today."

I love this one.

The Mall Playground

It's hard to believe this, given it was almost 80 yesterday and will be again today, but last Saturday it was so cold, wet and blustery, the only thing to do was be indoors. We decided to go to the mall for a while to just get out of the house. It was packed with the other thousands of people thinking the same thing.

We headed over to the mall "playground" - you've seen LM play here before - there is no "playground" at this mall officially, but this area, with the curved walls, turtles and ducks is quite possibly the coolest play area anywhere. And kids just get it - no need for instructions! I had the purse camera with me, so the photos mostly came out like cruddy, but here are a couple of the fun:

LM was talking to every kid there. Some of the kids were like, "Who the heck are you?" This did not deter him from greeting everyone and trying to engage them in play. I think he has my dad's "know no stranger" gene. At least it's looking like he might...

Gotta have some water after all that work!

LM approves this message.

See you soon.

Andrew is Three!

IMG_0767

Time flies, time flies, oh how time does fly. Little man Andrew turns three on Thursday, so there was a big ol' party last weekend to prove it. It started at the same gym we visited for Dex's party a while back and then we ate and opened presents with just the family after that. Luckily, LM decided to take a two hour nap at 8am on Saturday morning, (he was up at 6, back down at 8) or we wouldn't have made it through half of it. It was a fun time.

The Birthday Boy

Before we get too far - here's a little walk down memory lane:

Second Birthday

Ok, now that we're all caught up...I forgot that my newer camera's battery was almost out, therefore I didn't think ahead to charge that battery, or take a spare. Thus, I whipped out the Rebel XT for most of these photos. The only thing about that is, well, the settings and capabilities are a bit different than the newer one, and well, I haven't used the older one in a while. So, there's my excuse for the less than stellar shots at times. Dingbat with the Camera (that's me) forgets to check her settings. You might remember that about her. Luckily, Aunt Kim was also snapping away and she got some great photos. Here are some of the ones I caught:

Fun on the trampoline...
...here LM was lying down while Andrew bounced him in the air.
And of course, there is little sister Katherine front and center!

There was a game of Musical Chairs.

Only a good portion of the attendees didn't seem to get the game. It's OK - they had fun running around.

IMG_7204
You can see here LM fell squarely in the "doesn't get it" camp.

IMG_7248
Of course, Dexter was there!

IMG_7278
There was, of course, singing and cake.
Andrew blew out his candle all by himself!

Then, onto presents.

You might notice a resemblance between the two on the left and the two on the right.
At least this was the part they played at the party. Hee hee.

IMG_8535
There were several of Andrew's toys that LM took a liking to.

IMG_8580
Including eating pizza with Nonna in Andrew's bike helmet.

IMG_8587
This activity table was also a hit.

Incidentally, we purchased a (much smaller) one like this for LM just the week before off Kid's Woot. It arrived Saturday by the time we got home, and I took some photos of S and LM assembling it. I'll show those to you one day, too.

He rode this gift throughout the house on his tip toes.

IMG_8632
Very seriously checking out Papaw's photos.

Playing with the boys just before we left for home.

Happy Birthday Andrew! Thanks for inviting us to the fun. Here's to another one this time next year, OK? Deal? Deal.

See you soon.
