Andrew Plays Soccer

The boy and I stopped on the way home one night to watch Andrew play in a late afternoon soccer game. This is Andrew's first time playing on a soccer team. We arrived toward the very end of the game, because we weren't really sure where we were going! But, we caught some photos anyway:

And there's our fierce competitor now!

He also had a lot of spectators.

And Andrew's Daddy is a coach!

At the end of the game, the parents made a tunnel for the kids to run through. Cute.

Then it was time to collect stuff and go home!

See ya!

We hope to make it to another game or two this fall. LM loved watched Andrew play soccer.

See you soon!

The Boy as Photo Assistant

IMG_6888-2.jpg

So, this photo, and a few more very much like it, below, was taken by me. But, the boy was my photo assistant, which is the reason for the post. He put his clown glasses from Katherine's party on his big Brobee doll. Then he said he wanted to take their photo. I said OK and picked up my phone. I tried to show him how to take the photo but he said, "No Mommy, you do it!" OK, so I got down in front of the chair to take the photo.

And then the Little Man walked behind me and started waving his hands and making noises. You know, to get Muno and Brobee to look at the camera. Uh-huh. It was so freakin' cute. Of course, if I had not had his help, I'm sure they wouldn't be looking at the camera.

The first photo is the most in focus, I think because all the rest were taken while I was laughing and enjoying the antics of my sweet assistant. A great memory.

See you soon.

Butterflies

IMG_8544.jpg

After the aquarium visit the other day, we passed by the Texas Discovery Gardens. The Little Man ran up to the front door of the place and said, "Mommy, let's go in here!" So, of course, we went in there. Why not?

There are beautiful gardens at this place, but since it was raining, we decided to take in the indoor butterfly garden instead. There were TONS of butterflies - it was pretty cool. And we almost had the place to ourself - it was not very busy. At the end of our walk through the place, LM didn't want to leave. He just sat down and wanted to stay. Eventually I talked him into going to see Daddy and having some lunch. Here are the photos:

I love this one with the black and white contrasting with the purple.

I wish the focus was better on this one.

This moth has beautiful light blue wings - but I couldn't catch them open.

This was his post for quite some time.

IMG_8605.jpg
But, because he was dawdling, we caught the daily butterfly release.
Which was cool.

Then it was, eventually, time for lunch.

Dallas Children's Aquarium

IMG_8483.jpg

Last weekend, S was under the weather. So, one morning the LM and I set out to find something to do in the rain. We went to breakfast and then down to Fair Park to check out the Dallas Children's Aquarium. It is a smallish museum, but also a smallish entry fee compared to the larger aquariums or museums. And, when you're with a toddler, it's just big enough. LM really enjoyed his time at the aquarium. We'll definitely be back - perfect size for a quick little activity near home.

Then, on the way back to the car...cuteness to the nth degree.

IMG_8534.jpg
We had a great time.

S and I are headed out this weekend on an ACTUAL DATE. I know. I hope you were sitting down when you read that. I'm really looking forward to it. I hope your weekend is looking just as good.

See you soon.
