A Day at the Zoo!

A week ago last Friday, I took the day off work and went to the Dallas Zoo with the boy. It had been a while since our last visit, and it is one of his absolute favorite places to go. We had a very nice morning together at the zoo. It was very humid, and pretty crowded, but still fun and it was special for LM and I to spend it together. Here are some photos of our time:

The carousel.

I asked him, when we arrived, what he wanted to do first. He said he wanted to ride the camel. This is something he has done twice in the past with S, so I thought it was neat he remembered it and wanted to do it again. So, we headed straight to the camel. I paid up and we were ready to get on the beast. Then, all of a sudden, LM didn't want to ride! It was very strange...they were nice enough to give me my money back. After that, he wanted to ride the carousel. So, we got on and then he didn't want to ride the animals on the carousel! So, we sat together on one of the benches and rode in circles!

A self portrait. Sort of. Ha!

After those shenanigans, he started to warm up to the adventure. Maybe he was a little sleepy and had gotten lulled half asleep on the way there. Dunno. We headed to the elephants and giraffes next, and things perked up considerably.

Love, love, loved this one when I found it on memory card.

We lost our shoes in those fences several times...

Walking on the rocks was big fun!

Then we ended our time playing the water.

I had to entice the tired boy with food to get him to leave this area.
He loved it.

On the way out we tried to get a Dallas BIG photo, but there were others in the way.

See how he follows rules? Ahem.

It was a pleasure to spend the day with this little guy.

See you soon.
